Configure a TP-Link W9960 in PPPoE Mode for NBN

To put your TP-Link W9960 in PPPoE Mode for use with the NBN follow the steps below:

  1. Plug the phone line into the VDSL/DSL Port, connect your PC to LAN 1
  2. Browse to 192.168.1.1
  3. Enter admin for the username and password
  4. Click the Quick Setup link, set your Time Zone and Region appropriately.
  5. Click Next
  6. Click Next, select “Other” from the list, then click Next.
  7. Set the following
    1. Set ISP to Other
    2. L2 Interface Type to VDSL
    3. Enable VLAN ID – unchecked
    4. Connection Type to PPPoE
    5. Set your username (EG: username@internet.url.net.au)
    6. Set your password.
    7. Click Next

     

  8. Configure Wireless network
    1. Set 2.4GHz Wireless – Enable Wireless Radio
    2. Network Name (SSID) – Leave default or change to your own name
    3. Password – Your Wireless password, it is recommended you make it random don’t use Password or 12345678
    4. Click Next
  9. Ensure the connection test passes, then click Next.
  10. Click Finish.
  11.   You should now connect your equipment to LAN 1, LAN 2, etc.
