Securing Extensions by IP Address
Using our Hosted PBX service you can restrict usage your extension(s) by adding your external IP address or network to our system. Doing so will ensure only devices or computers from your network can register to your extension.
TIP
If you do not know your external IP address you can search google using the link https://www.google.com.au/search?q=what+is+my+ip you should then see an IP address in the box labelled “Your public IP address”
- Login to our Dashboard
- Select the Orange Wrench icon for the PBX service to manage
- Select Extensions
- Select the Edit pencil icon for the extension you wish to apply the IP address restriction
- Towards the top of the screen, you will see a section called Advanced
then locate Network, enter your IP address here and select the appropriate netmask (normally 255.255.255.255 /32 for a single address)
- Click Save to apply the change
